What you need to know when scheduling your appointment.
Although it is common practice in massage therapy to have a one-hour session consist of 50 or 55 minutes of actual hands-on time, at Barefoot Therapy you get what you pay for. If you pay for a 1-hour massage, you will receive 60 minutes of hands-on*. Due to this, please allow for additional time for payments, intake, disrobing, etc. Also, if you are a first-time client, please make sure your intake forms are completed online or that you have made arrangements with our staff to fill it out in office. If you need to fill the forms out in office, please arrive 10-15 minutes early. If you have not received the link to the intake forms, please contact our staff as soon as possible.

Swedish/Relaxation Massage
Swedish massage uses long, flowing strokes to ease tension, improve circulation, and promote relaxation. Hands are primarily used in this massage, although fists and forearms may also be used. The pressure varies from light to firm depending on client preference. (Extra firm pressure is available for an additional charge. See price list below. Although, not everyone needs or benefits from the extra pressure.) This classic massage is perfect for anyone looking to ease everyday and unexpected stress. You can choose 30-90 minutes for this modality.
Deep Tissue/Therapeutic Massage
Not to be confused with DEEP PRESSURE, deep tissue is simply a massage that targets pain. It is working through the layers of muscle to loosen tight areas. Deep tissue massage is designed to relieve muscle tension and improve mobility, leaving you feeling more fluid and less stiff. In many cases it can even help to alleviate pain. Our skilled therapists use a variety of techniques to target problem areas and help you achieve optimal wellness. The pressure varies from light to firm depending on client preference. (Extra firm - "deep" - pressure is available for an additional charge. See price list below. Although, not everyone needs or benefits from the extra pressure.)
This modality generally involves fists and elbows more than hands. If you are a person that prefers hands, this may not be the massage for you.
Thai Foot Reflexology
Long story short, this modality is based on the principle that specific points on the feet correspond to different organs and systems in the body, reflexology may help to relieve stress, improve circulation, and promote overall wellness. It can be a great alternative to someone that is unable to receive a full body massage or uncomfortable being touched or undressing. You can choose 30 or 45 minutes for this modality. Invigorating Massage
This is completely the opposite of what you think of when you hear "massage". This massage is simply to boost your energy. It is performed quickly, therefore it does not last as long. You can choose between 15 and 30 minutes, and light or medium pressure for this massage. Couple it with an energizing oil blend for an extra punch. (See Add-On Pricing below.)
Couples Massage
Currently, I do not have a couples' room or another therapist. However, you can book back to back massages and either relax in the lobby while your partner/friend/etc. is in session, or do your errands or explore downtown Mexia while you wait.
